Blending our city roots with the serene, nature-filled life of Lunas
Villa Marguerite is a charming 19th-century villa nestled in the picturesque village of Lunas. Situated along the serene banks of the Gravezon River, this medieval village may not be on the typical list of France’s most beautiful villages, but it offers a unique, off-the-beaten-path allure that only hidden gems can provide.
We are a local, artistic, and organic B&B, offering an eclectic and welcoming environment for our guests. Our rooms combine modern comforts with the timeless charm of southern France. Located on the second floor, the two spacious rooms are perfect for larger families, groups of friends, or two couples—ideal for staying together, yet with enough space to feel like you have your own privacy.
Each room includes a private ensuite bathroom with a shower and toilet, stocked with organic shampoos and soaps. For your convenience, a small kitchenette is available, allowing you to prepare meals and enjoy dining in comfort. Between the rooms, you'll find a cozy "hallway" featuring a fireplace and a large library—perfect for unwinding with a book, playing games, or simply relaxing.
The villa is surrounded by a large, private garden and a historic terrace that spans the entire width of the house. The garden offers plenty of sun and shade, thanks to a magnificent 150-year-old cedar tree. For colder days, a wood-fired hot tub provides the perfect setting to stargaze and unwind under the night sky.
We, Fred de Jong and Kit Seur, both born and raised in Amsterdam, began our first B&B in 1995. Fred is an artist, and Kit is a photographer. We’ve always had a love for traveling, cycling, and living outdoors, which led us to settle in Lunas in 2020.
Villa Marguerite reflects the blend of our "city-people" roots from Amsterdam with the peaceful, nature-filled surroundings of the Escandorgues. Here, we enjoy the company of royal eagles, river swims, outdoor dining, and the calm atmosphere of our charming village.
